Matter (2)

PURE SUBSTANCES
Pure substances have distinct propeties. Is difficult to finde this substances around  us.

MIXTURES
Made up of two or more pure  substances.
There are two kinds of mixtures: homogeneous and heterogeneous.
Homogeneous mixture is the mixture that you don't can distinguish her components, and heterogeneous  we can distinguish her components.

SEPARATING MIXTURES

Evaporation can be used to separate a dissolved substance from a liquid.During evaporation the liquids evaporateand the solids crystallise.

Distillation is a way of separating liquids. We can heat a liquid mixture until the liquid we want to separate boils,or evaporates. The we can capture the vapours caused by the boiling and cool them until the y condense. The final result is two different liquids.

Filtration is another way of separating solids from a liquid. Filtration is passing a mixture of a liquid and solids through a permeable material called a filter.

Decantation can be used to  separate two liquids of different densities. This process consists of living the mixture in a funnel until the liquids are separated

Matter

Matter is anything  that has mass and occupies space.

PROPETIES OF MATTER:

The propeties of matter describes that matter looks. The y are: shape, colour, size and texture.

Mass describes how much matter is in aún object and is measured in grammes.

Volume is the space that an object occups.is measured in litres.

Density  is the amount of mass in each unit of volume. It's measured  in grammes per cúbicos centimetre.

STATES OF MATTER

There are 3 states of matter : solid, liquid and gaseous.

Fusion is the change from a solid to a liquid state.

Condensation  is the change from a gaseous to a liquid state.

Evaporation is the change from a liquid to a gaseous state.

Solidification is the change from a liquid to a solid state.
